How to Know When It’s Time to Hire Your First Virtual Assistant

How to Know When It’s Time to Hire Your First Virtual Assistant When I hired my first virtual assistant I doubled my income from the previous year. Not to say that this was the only factor in my income boost, but it was a BIG reason. With my virtual assistant’s support I was able to hand over the administrative tasks that were sucking up TONS of my time and focus on the parts of my business that drove me forward and earned money. That being said, hiring my first virtual assistant wasn’t an easy decision. First I had to get over some of the barriers that were standing in my way of taking the leap. I can’t afford a virtual assistant… Although it can be hard to know exactly when to hire a virtual assistant, I can tell you that it’s probably sooner than you think. One reason it can be hard to know when to hire a virtual assistant is because you might be stuck thinking you don’t have the money to pay an assistant. This was my mindset for the first few years of my business. And I paid for it, literally…in the form of lost hours and lost money. It wasn’t until I was able to transition my mindset from “I can’t afford a virtual assistant” to, “a virtual assistant is an investment that will help me increase my income” that I was able to make real strides forward in my business. For example, before I hired a VA I was stuck making 5K in my business (or less) every month. I just couldn’t seem to...
Should Prospective Clients Commit Before They Leave the Discovery Session?

Should Prospective Clients Commit Before They Leave the Discovery Session?

Should Prospective Clients Commit Before They Leave the Discovery Session? “You must force potential clients to commit to your program before they leave the discovery session…otherwise you will lose them forever.” If you’ve been in the coaching industry for any length of time, I bet you’ve heard this claim from at least one business “expert.” And if you are a heart-centered, spirit-driven biz owner, I bet the idea of forcing potential clients to commit to work with you before they leave the discovery session feels totally icky and out of integrity. I know it did for me. When I was a new coach, this is what I was taught. And I believed it must be true if these experienced “experts” told me so. But when I tried it out, it felt terrible. I didn’t like forcing my potential clients to make a huge commitment of time and money without thinking it through, and my potential clients didn’t like how this sales tactic made them feel, so they said “no”, left the discovery session and never returned. Let’s just say, I didn’t attract many clients this way. Choosing to ditch this tactic and find my own way, I developed a strategy that felt in integrity with my style and also got me the results I was looking for - prospective clients saying YES to working with me! Do you want to hear what it is? How to get a decision from potential clients without feeling pushy or sleazy: First, let me be clear that while I’m not a fan of forcing potential clients to commit before they leave the discovery...
The Power of Programs: Why it’s Better to Sell Coaching Programs than Coaching Sessions

The Power of Programs: Why it’s Better to Sell Coaching Programs than Coaching Sessions

Are you a coach or other service-based biz owner who sells your services by the session? Are you fed up with chasing your clients to get paid? Are you sick of having to track down your clients to book their next session? If you haven’t transitioned yet to offering programs/packages instead of individual sessions, you’re not only creating more of a headache for yourself than necessary, but you’re also leaving lots of money on the table. Here are my TOP reasons why it’s better to sell coaching programs than coaching sessions: 1. Attract More Clients Most people don’t want to buy “coaching” or “therapy” (or whatever the service is that you provide). What they want to buy is a solution to the problem that they find themselves in. Your program transforms what you do into a step-by-step system that shows your ideal clients exactly how you will help them solve their problem when they work with you. 2. Be Perceived as More Credible Your program positions you as an expert & makes you appear more credible and trustworthy. You are someone who has “figured it out” & created a solution, a.k.a your program! 3. Stand Out From the Crowd There’s a lot of “experts” out there who sell sessions. Your program makes you one-of-a-kind. You created it, so even though there might be others who offer the same service, nobody does what you do in exactly the same way. 4. Paint a Clearer Picture for Prospective Clients Your program paints a clear picture for prospective clients about what it would look like to work with you. A confused mind...

How to Attract a Constant Stream of Clients and Income: No Hype – Just Practical Lessons from My Entrepreneur Journey

This month, I’ve had the pleasure of working with an incredible young woman named Gianna. At 20 years old, she’s my youngest client yet, but I must say…she’s one of the most dedicated, resourceful, and responsible people I’ve ever worked with. She’s stole a place in my heart because she reminds me of my own journey of starting my business at such a young age. One thing that’s awesome about Gianna is that she asks great questions and she’s eager to learn. I want to share my answer to one of her most recent questions, because although simple, it’s super important and super fundamental to building your business. Gianna’s question: How to Attract a Constant Stream of Clients and Income? My answer: while there’s not only one path to a constant stream of clients and income, I can share what’s worked for me. My 5 tried and true keys to generating a constant stream of clients and income: 1. Patience The first thing to understand about a “constant flow of clients and income” is that it takes time. Most business owners don’t achieve this overnight. In the beginning there’s lots of ups and downs as you get clear about your direction, message and ideal client. Over time, as you become known, liked and trusted, you will attract more consistent clients. It’s kind of like a snow ball. It takes time to pick up speed, but once it does it tumbles faster and builds up with more and more snow. This is what will happen with attracting clients and income. 2. Simplicity My next key to a constant stream of...
